CE Marking for Machinery

CE marking is a mandatory requirement for many equipment to to be sold in European markets. It indicates your product in compliance with the essential health and safety requirements of the relevant EU legislation. With APAVE’s Notified Bodies network, we can support you to CE mark your equipment.

For industrial equipment with moving parts, the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC shall be applied. Since the moving parts of the equipment may cause many hazards to the users, it is necessary to take safety measures to prevent risk.

Basically CE machinery directive is a “self-certification” directive. It means that the manufacturer can issue a “self- declaration of conformity”. However, if your equipment belongs to the list of high risk machines in Annex IV of the Machinery Directive, it will require the third-party certification.
